Video: Meet the Toyota GT 86 that’s powered by the Lexus IS-F’s V8
While many consumers are complaining about the 2.0 liter naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder horizontally opposed engine that will power the Scion FR-S and the Toyota GT 86, one enthusiast is actually doing something about.

Standard, the 2.0 liter engine will produce 200-hp at 7,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 151 lb-ft at 6,600 rpm. Of course, that leave a lot of room for the tuning market to jump in and squeeze out each and every horse from the FR-S, GT 86 and the BRZ.
The first one to take the FR-S/GT 86 to the next level is Max Orido, who put together a Toyota GT 86 powered by the 5.0 liter V8 from the Lexus IS-F. The model is built to compete in this year’s Japanese D1 drift series. The 5.0 liter V8 is good for 416-hp and 371 lb-ft of torque.
And no – we’re not kidding.
