Mercedes-Benz’s new compact 4-door-coupe to be produced in Hungary

Mercedes-Benz confirmed earlier this month that it will debut a new concept in April called the Mercedes-Benz Concept Style Coupe – known to us as the CLC.

Today the company confirmed that the model will be built at its new plant in Kecskemet, Hungary, where the German automaker began production earlier this week.

“With the start of production in Kecskemet, the Mercedes-Benz offensive in the premium compact segment is shifting up a gear,” said Daimler CEO Dr. Dieter Zetsche. “With the production network of the Rastatt and Kecskemét plants, we now have the capacity to meet the demand from many existing – and new – customers in the premium compact segment.”

Zetsche said that the new model will be a 4-door-coupe of the new generation Mercedes-Benz compact cars.
