Report: Next-generation Ford Focus RS development delayed

Speaking to Australia’s Car Advice, Ford’s vehicle line director for small cars, Gunnar Herrmann, says that the next-generation Ford Focus RS has been delayed.

He said that Ford ‘needs to determine the technological and performance direction for the new Focus RS.’

“We are not working on [the new] RS right now,” says Herrmann. “It’s just because we have other priorities to clean up and effectively we have to make a final decision on how we proceed [with the new RS]. We have other items to proceed with.”

Last month, we heard that the next-generation Ford Focus will be powered by a turbocharged 2.3-liter 4-cylinder making at least 320-hp.
