Report: Pininfarina considering limited production run for Cambiano Concept

Pininfarina may produce a limited run of its Cambiano plug-in hybrid coupe concept that made its debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show last week. The Pininfarina Cambiano Concept is a 680-hp range extended plug-in hybrid concept that can hit a top speed of 186 mph.

“We are evaluating the potential for companies and private buyers interested is a high-performance, low-emission luxury model such as the Cambiano,” Pininfarina CEO Sergio Angori told Automotive News Europe.

He said that pricing depends on how many units the company ends up building. If Pininfarina produces 10 units, each unit would sell for about 1 million euros ($1.3 million USD) – if 70 to 75 units are produced, the price would fall to 400,000 euros ($522,356 USD).

He also said that it would take about 24 to 30 months before Pininfarina could start production of the Cambiano.
