2012 Geneva: 2012 Mercedes-Benz CL Grand Edition celebrates 60-years of S-Class Coupes

Back in 1952, Mercedes released the 300 S, marking the beginning of what is the CL-Class of today, with a long line of luxury, handcrafted coupes in between. With 60 years behind the S-Class Coupe, Mercedes-Benz has decided to celebrate the anniversary with a new “Grand Edition” version of the CL-Class that features AMG styling accents and exclusive paint.

Three paint finishes are available for the new edition that include mocha black metallic, platinum black metallic, and for an additional contribution, a matte finish mango cashmere white. A set of either 5- or 10-spoke wheels can be selected, both sized at 20-inches.

To further enhance the sport appeal of the model, Mercedes added an AMG Sports package that infused its touch with front and rear aprons and side sills.

The inside of the model is covered in handcrafted leather available in three colors, designo aniline leather deep black, armagnac, or porcelain. Finishes come in either high-gloss burr walnut or black ash.

The model also comes equipped with all the power of the standard V8 biturbo with 435hp, and the technical highlights such as Active Body Control.

This beautiful machine does not come without a high price tag, with all the extra luxury of the kit running about $6,400 USD over the $115,000 base price.
