2012 Geneva: Volkswagen Cross Coupe Concept gets new color-scheme, more power

At the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show, Volkswagen showed up to Japan with the Cross Coupe Concept. Tomorrow at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen will upgrade the concept with a new color scheme with an updated TDI diesel.

The new Volkswagen Cross Coupe TDI Plug-in Concept now gets a new turbodiesel direct-injection engine, which increases fuel-economy figures to 1.8 liters/km (or 130 mpg US) along with C02 emissions of 46g/km.

Combined with two electric-motors the new TDI helps increase output from 261-hp to 302-hp. Top speed jumps to 137 mph.

With a second take at the Cross Coupe Concept, we’re guessing Volkswagen is pretty serious about putting the model into production.
