2012 Geneva: Hamann HAWK is an SLS AMG Roadster with 628-hp

German tunning house Hamann released a kit based on the Mercedes SLS AMG GT Coupe at last year’s Geneva Motor Show, and following up for this year, the ‘Hawk’ kit returns for the SLS AMG Roadster.

On the outside, Hamann adds a full, wind-tunnel-tested body kit that includes a front bumper fascia with larger air inlets and LED lights, side skirts, a carbon fiber hood with air vents, a rear bumper fascia with a diffuser and a carbon fiber wing. Additionally, Hamann added width to the car with fender flairs that add 60mm and quarter panels that add 70mm, both on each side. The German tuner skipped the wing doors on this year’s ‘Hawk’.

The model has been dropped by 30mm all around and includes a coil over kit with four height-adjustable dampers and four progressively wound springs. A set of lightweight 21-inch wheels have been fitted to the SLS, as well, wrapped in 2245/30ZR 21 tires up from and 345/25 ZR 21 in the rear.

A 6.3-liter V8 engine powers the ‘Hawk’ with the addition of a stainless steel exhaust, sports air filer and a remapped ECU. Power is kicked up to 628-hp from 563hp on the stock version, allowing for a 0-62mph time of 3.6 seconds, with speed topping out at 199mph.
