Magna Steyr previews its MILA Coupic Concept before Geneva debut

Magna MILA Coupic Concept Preview

Magna Steyr has released details on the unveiling its sixth concept in the MILA line at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show next week.

The concept is an SUV coupe that converts to a pick up or a convertible model, all with room for five. Glass panels are integrated into the soft top convertiable, and the front and rear of the roof can be independently opened. Converting to a pick up is done via roof configuration, as well.

“The MILA Coupic is a great illustration of the unique product design and engineering capabilities we can deliver to customers,” said Guenther Apfalter, President of Magna Steyr. “Our customers expect suppliers like Magna to bring them innovative solutions to help them meet the increasingly demanding challenges of this industry. The MILA Coupic multifunctional concept showcases vehicle functionality through flexible seating systems, roof modules and materials.”

The design theme for the Mila Coupic is based on a layering concept, where the bottom layer provides stablility, the middle is designed around safety, and the top makes for sporty appeal. The space inside the car is manipulated with advanced seating technology that changes the interior’s configuration to accommodate the switch between the 3-in-1 variants.
