Following a short leak yesterday, Jaguar has decided to release the official images and details of the new XF Sportbrake before its 2012 Geneva Motor Show debut.

“The XF epitomises the Jaguar sporting dynamic with its combination of innovative, seductive design and performance. In the XF Sportbrake this is complemented by a no-compromise approach to practicality and versatility.” Adrian Hallmark, Global Brand Director, Jaguar Cars.

The 2013 Jaguar XF Sportbrake will go on sale across Europe later this year and will compete with the likes of the of the Audi A6 Avant and the BMW 5-Series Touring.

Jaguar says that the new XF Sportbrake is completely new from the B-Pillar backward. With the rear seats up, the Jaguar XF Sportbrake offers 19 cubic feet of space – with the seats down that figure goes up to 59 cubic feet.

Power for the 2013 Jaguar XF Sportbrake will come from a range of fuel-efficient diesel engines mated to a rear-wheel-drive architecture and an 8-speed automatic. The diesel units will include a 2.2 liter and two different versions of a 3.0 twin-turbo V6.
