2012 Aston Martin V8 Vantage unveiled before Geneva debut

Aston Martin is finally blessing us with some fun supercar related news today without talking about the very boring Cygnet. Meet the 2012 Aston Martin V8 Vantage  that will be making its debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Aston Martin says that the recently unveiled V12 Zagato will be assuming the role of the flagship in the Vantage lineup and will enter production later this year. So what happens with the V8 Vantage?

Besides a slight redesign, the 4.7 liter V8 has been upgraded to produce a nice 420-hp while the Vantage S now produces 430-hp and 361 lb-ft. The 6-speed manual transmission remains but the optional 6-speed Sportshift automatic has been replaced with a 7-speed Sportshift II. The 2012 Aston Martin V12 Vantage will remain unchanged and will continue on with its 6.0 liter V12 engine making 510-hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. The V12 Vantage runs from 0 to 62 mph in 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 190 mph.

Aston says that the new 2012 Vantage lineup also receives upgrades to the drive quality including quicker steering, bigger brakes and wider tires.

The 2012 Aston Martin V8 Vantage is available to order now with prices starting at 84,995 ($134,658 USD) for the V8 Vantage and 99,995 ($158,423 USD) for the V8 Vantage S. U.S. pricing info will be released at a later days.
