Report: NHTSA looking into driver-side door fires on Chevrolet TrailBlazers
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that it is looking into reports of driver-side door fires on some 2006 and 2007 model year Chevrolet TrailBlazer SUVs. The investigation covers more than 309,000 units made by GM.
NHTSA said that it received a total of 12 consumer complaints and encountered field reports describing belting or burning by the driver’s power window master switch.
Ten of the twelve complaints led to a driver-side door fire, some of which occurred while TrailBlazer was blazing in action.
A GM spokesman said that no injuries have been reported.
