2012 Audi RS4 Avant makes official debut

After a minor leak earlier today, Audi has decided to official unveil the new 2012 Audi RS4 Avant online with all the pictures and details. The third-generationan model will be going on sale in Germany in fall of 2012 at a base price of €76,600.

As we’ve told you before, power comes from the same 4.2 liter V8 engine from the RS5 Coupe – making 450-hp at 8,250 rpm with a peak torque of 317 lb-ft between 4,000 to 6,000 rpm. Mated to a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission and quattro permanent all-wheel-drive, the Audi RS4 Avant will run form standstill to 62 mph in just 4.7 seconds and will keep going to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. That can be bumped up to 174 mph upon request.

The 2012 Audi RS4 Avant will be hand-built at the company’s Gyor, Hungray plant.

Look out for the 2012 RS4 Avant to make its public debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
