Report: Next Porsche 911 GT3 may only get PDK transmission
When the next-generation Porsche 911 GT3 comes out next year, it may only be available with the company’s 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission.
August Achleitner, the 911 project head, confirmed that the company’s motorsport division is currently testing both manual and PDK versions of the new GT3 – however, only one transmission will make the cut when the car goes on sale and so far, PDK is the favorite.

“When we launched the 911 Turbo S, we did not offer a manual, but we have not had a single complaint,” Achleitner said to Inside Line. Interestingly enough, manual transmission only account for 30 percent of the model’s sales.
Heck, even I prefer Porsche’s PDK over the manual even though I like circling through the cogs.
