At the 2012 Detroit Auto Show today, Nissan is showing off its new Pathfinder Concept, a production version of which will go on sale at Nissan dealers nationwide in fall 2012. Nissan said that the new Pathfinder is just one of the 20 new or redesigned products it plans on introducing to the market within the next two years.
“Nissan is in a great position today. Sales are up, market share is increasing and our dealers have a great selection of 2012 Nissan cars, trucks and SUVs in inventory,” said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division, Nissan North America, Inc. “This new Pathfinder Concept is just the beginning of a far-reaching wave of new products on the horizon for Nissan. By the end of 2012, more than 70 percent of our sales volume will be all-new or redesigned.”
One of the biggest changes to the new Pathfinder design is the return to a unibody platform – offering seating for 7-passengers and SUV capabilities.
Nissan says that the 2013 Pathfinder will carry a V6 engine, which will be mated to a next-generation Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
