Fisker Karma prices jump by $7,000, base model now starts at $102,000

Fisker Automotive’s Karma Sedan is no longer known as a ‘nearly $100,000 plug-in hybrid.’ The car is now priced over $100,000 with the price for the base Karma Eco Standard starting at $102,000.

That’s an increase of $7,000 over the original $95,000 price tag. The new price will take effect starting Thursday. The top-of-the-line Fisker Karma EcoChic will start at $116,000.

Fisker spokesman Roger Ormisher said that those who have already put down a deposit for the Karma will be offered the original price as long as they finalize their orders by January 15, 2012.

So far, Fisker has delivered a dozen of retail cars and has 1,200 produced or in production.
