GM to offer turbocharged engine in 2013 Chevrolet Malibu

General Motors has confirmed that it will be offering a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine in the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu when it goes on sale next year.

The Chevrolet Malibu Eco will be the first variant to go on sale early next summer. The Malibu Eco carries 2.4 liter Ecotec direct-injection 4-cylinder mated to GM’s eAssist battery electric/gas propulsion system. That will be joined by a 190-hp 2.5 liter Ecotec 4-cylinder.
