SSC rakes in $13 million in Tuatara orders at Dubai International Motor Show
At the 2011 Dubai International Motor Show last month, show-goers were treated to dozens of exclusive cars from Ferrari, Bugatti, Lamborghini and a bunch of other high-end brands. Also at the show was America’s Shelby Supercars, which showed off its upcoming model – the Tuatara.
When you’re in the land where money is no object and everyone is trying to outdo each other, you’re bound to sell something to someone. Shelby Supercars, which claims that its $1.3 million Tuatara is faster than the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport, ended up getting 10 signatures during the 5-day show.

That’s 10 times $1.3 million or $13 million.
“This has been a huge show for us – we’ve sold ten cars, which is phenomenal,” said founder Jerod Shelby. “Our expectation was nothing more than to create awareness of the brand in this region and find a distributor, but this has been amazing. The business has been outstanding.”
The SSC Tuatara is powered by a 6.8 liter V8 engine making 1,350-hp, which will allow it to go from 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 275 mph.
