Report: Porsche receives ‘overwhelming’ orders for new 911 in Europe

Porsche’s new 2012 911 Carrera has received ‘overwhelming’ orders in Germany two days before the model actually goes on sale across Europe. That’s pretty impressive since the starting price tag for a Porsche 911 there is 88,000-euro ($119,000 USD).

According to spokesman Dirk Erat, Porsche will have a ‘particularly strong rush’ for the new 911 in Europe and that advance sales are already in the four digits.reworked 911 are in the four-digits, spokesman Dirk Erat said.

Porsche aims to increase its sales to at least 200,000 by 2018. By next year, Porsche hopes to sell a record 140,000 units up from 120,000 units in 2011.
