Videos: Toyota GT 86 in action, first driving impressions
Alright – so if you were too busy with family or traveling this past weekend, you missed one of the most significant debuts of the year – the Toyota GT 86 rear-wheel-drive sports coupe, the production version of the Toyota FT-86 Concept.
While messing around on YouTube, I decided to gather all the videos I could possible find on the new GT 86 for your viewing pleasure. Some of the videos after the jump include stock videos from Toyota, while others show the first driving impressions of the GT 86 from Japanese media.
So take a nice half hour out of your morning to get yourself familiar with Toyota’s new sports car (“Toyota’s new sports car” something I thought I’d never say after Supra and Celica were put to rest).

Refresher: Power for the Toyota GT 86 comes from a 2.0 liter 4-clyinder boxer engine making 197-hp at 7,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 151 lb-ft at 6,600 rpm. The engine is mated standard to a 6-speed manual transmission with an available 6-speed automatic. The Toyota GT 86 will go on sale in the United States next year as the Scion FR-S.
