2012 Volkswagen Passat Alltrack – should it come to the U.S.?
At the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show next week, Volkswagen will debut its new Passat Alltrack, which adds 4Motion four-wheel-drive allowing for more off-road capability. The new Volkswagen Passat Alltrack also gets visual enhancement that provide protection from scrapes when you’re traveling on some rough terrain. Other features include matte chrome roof rails, window surrounds, grille and exterior mirror casings.
In the UK, the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack will be available with a 2.0 liter TDI making 138-hp mated to a 6-speed manual or a 2.0 liter TDI making 167-hp with a 6-speed DSG transmission.
The model comes standard with an Alcantara upholstery, 2Zone electronic climate control, cruise control, tire pressure monitoring system, MDI iPod connectivity, Bluetooth telephone preparation and 18-inch alloys.
