According to Volkswagen Group of America CEO Jonathan Browning, the company will show a profit on its sales operations in 2011 for the first time since 2003. He said that the company’s stateside business will also be profitable next year.
“This is not just a volume game,” Browning said. “This is about the quality of the revenue and quality of sales. What you are seeing is customers connecting with VW and our momentum continuing.”
Volkswagen says that it is on target to hit its 800,000 sales goal in 2018.
Through the first 10 months of 2012, Volkswagen sales are up 24 percent and will top 300,000 units for the first time since 2003.
