Report: Chrysler finally completes sale of factory-owned L.A. store
After running into some legal issues, Chrysler Group has finalized the sale of its Motor Village LA store. A local dealership, New Century Automotive Group, owns the downtown LA location as of the end of October.
Chrysler is still in negotiations with the California Department of Motor Vehicles over a complaint they filed back in March citing unfair competition. The Motor Village store was located within 10 miles of non-factory dealers.
The store was originally opened in order for the brand to reestablish its presence in the area. Since the complaint was filed, Chrysler spokesman Ralph Kisiel said “We wanted to get this store into private hands, and we have, ” but a settlement has still not been reached.
