2012 Honda CR-V, 2013 Honda Fit EV to make production debut in LA

At the 2011 LA Auto Show on November 16 (launch of press days), Honda will be showing two new models including the 2012 CR-V and the 2013 Fit EV.

“As one of the best-selling SUV’s in the United States, the fourth-generation 2012 CR-V will showcase new exterior and interior styling, improved fuel economy and added technology features,” Honda said in a statement. “The all electric zero-emissions Fit EV concept vehicle debuted at last year’s Los Angeles Auto Show and the production model will be revealed this year.”

For 2012, the Honda CR-V is unlikely to see any major changes to the powertrain. We’re not sure exactly what the production Honda Fit EV will be powered by but expect something similar to the concept, which was powered by a lithium-ion battery and coaxial electric motor. On a full charge, the Honda Fit EV Concept delivered 100 miles with a top speed of 90 mph.

Sales of the 2012 Honda CR-V will start later this year while the Honda Fit EV will hit showrooms next year.
