Cadillac released a new behind-the-scenes video of the development of its new compact luxury model that will launch next year. What’s interesting is that in the press release, Cadillac refers to the model as “codenamed ATS” – which leads us to believe that the actual production model may carry different letters.

The two-minute video shows interviews with GM North America President Mark Reuss, who is test-driving a pre-production Cadillac ATS, along with global Vehicle Line Executive David Leone, lead development engineer Chris Berube, and performance engineer Kevin Zelenka.
The Cadillac ATS, if it is called that, will go into production next summer at GM’s Lansing Grand River plant, the same plant that builds the Cadillac CTS sedan, coupe and wagon. GM invested $190 million and added 600 jobs for the new model.
