Video: A glimpse at the concept design behind the Porsche 918 RSR
Porsche has just released a new video with Porsche Designer Manager of Sports Cars, Anthony Hatter, detailing the design process and current status of Porsche’s upcoming hybrid supercar, the 918 Spyder.
While the Porsche 918 RSR was just a conceptual study, Hatter explains that many of its exterior design elements were taken from past Porsche race cars, while the new production 918 Spyder will do much of the same.

Refresher: The Porsche 918 RSR is built on a stiff carbon fiber plastic monocoque and is powered by a direct-injected V8 from the RS Spyder making 563-hp. The two electric-motors on the front wheels contribute a burst of 150 kW bringing output to peak drive power of 767-hp. The additional jump in power is generated during braking and is stored in an optimised flywheel accumulator.
