Report: Subaru and Toyota continue joint operations

Scion FR-S - Toyota FT-86

Subaru, Toyota Motor Corp. and Fuji Heavy Industries have been working together for quite some time. Fuji has been responsible for building Subarus while Subaru’s plant in Lafayette also took up the task of building the Toyota Camry. And just recently, the three companies had agreed to continue working together to build the Toyota Camry.

This relationship began when Subaru began building Camry’s at their plant in Indiana in 2007 when ToMoCo needed more production capacity. Toyota also interestingly owns 16.5% of Subaru.

Both Toyota and Subaru have also been working on a jointly developed sport coupe, which we know as the Toyota FT-86/Scion FR-S.
