Thieves caught stealing Gaddafi’s custom Fiat 500 EV during civil unrest in Libya
In light of the civil unrest in Libya, a photographer from the Associated Press came across an interesting event that unfolded right before his/her eyes.
Apparently, two guerillas were caught stealing Muammar Gaddafi’s custom-made Fiat 500 all-electric convertible valued in at $144,000.
The car was made by a special garage in Milan, Italy that goes by the name of Castagna and apparently, Gaddafi was very big on EVs.
The Fiat 500 was fitted with a custom 34 kW electric motor made by Ansaldo and was paired up with extra-large lithium ion batteries. Gaddafi’s 500 could do more than 100 mph and had a range of about 150 miles between charges.
