Peugeot’s HX1 Concept gets unveiled just before Frankfurt

You could always count on the French carmakers’ ability to come out with a crazy and radical concept for major auto shows. And that’s exactly what Peugeot did.

Peugeot has just unveiled their HX1 concept ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show, which is just around the corner.

Some of the specifics of the HX1 concept include five special rear-hinged half-scissor doors…if that makes any sense. Other highlights include very unique and sleek body styling that looks like a “shooting break” that was elongated.

The Peugeot HX1 is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain. A 2.4L turbocharged diesel powers the front wheels with 204hp while an electric motor powers the rear. Altogether, Peugeot said the HX1 can produce 299hp and achieve an equivalent of 88.2 mpg.
