Report: Ford Edge EcoBoost to get 30 mpg highway

Ford has just announced its latest economy figures for their four-cylinder EcoBoost powered Explorer and Edge.

Pegged for a release for the 2012 model year, the latest EcoBoost Ford Explorer is rated at 28mpg where as the new 2012 Edge EcoBoost is rated at 30mpg, both highway.

The new 2.0L engine is rated at 250-hp and 275 lb-ft of torque and is an available option throughout the entire line. It is then mated to a six-speed automatic. Whether that’s enough to motivate the two large vehicles will remain a question.

Production for the Ford Explorer and Edge EcoBoosts begins this August.
