The Renault Twingo has been around since 1992. But how many generations of the Twingo do you think exist? Five? Seven? How about two? Yes, the Renault Twingo city car has been around for nearly 20 years and only two generations. Hence, to keep the current Twingo, which came out in 2008, from following the same fate as the first generation Twingo, Renault has just unveiled its latest facelift for the second generation Twingo.
Heavily inspired by cues that can be found on likes of the Nissan Juke, who (Nissan) also happens to be Renault’s partner, the 2012 Twingo is Renault’s first mass produced vehicle inspired by Renault’s new design identity.
The 2012 Renault Twingo will officially debut at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show in September with Laurens van der Acker, former design chief of Mazda and current for Renault, leading the presentation.
