2012 Camry will be key to Toyota’s rebound after Hyundai’s Sonata stole the spotlight
Alright – so there is no doubt that the new 2011 Hyundai Sonata is a very good looking car with a quality interior and is taking over sales in the mid-size sedan segment. Toyota is now pretty scared and is working hard on the new Camry to take back market share from the Sonata.
The 2012 Toyota Camry is due out later this fall and will most likely make its debut at the 2011 LA Auto Show in November.
The Toyota Camry, which is still the best selling car in the United States, has lost ground to the Hyundai Sonata, which actually surpassed the Camry in May for the first time.

“Sonata became a very honorable contender in the market,” Yoshimi Inaba, Toyota’s North American chairman, said in a interview with Automotive News. “We do have good respect for the model, and the sales figures show it’s increasing quite a bit.”
Sales of the Camry dropped 31 percent to 327,804 units last year.
Sales of the Hyundai Sonata, which was revamped in Jan. 2010, shot up 35 percent to 196,623 units last year.
