Fiat Freemont selling better-than-expected in Europe, Chrysler asked to boost production

While you may think that the Dodge Journey isn’t something to brag about, the Italians, on the other hand, seem to love it. Fiat has asked Chrysler to increase production of the Freemont large crossover after the model sold better-than-expected in the European region.

When the Fiat Freemont made its debut in Italy in June, the company planned on selling 13,000 units in 2011. However, the automaker said that it has collected 15,700 orders so far.

Fiat planned to sell a total of 33,000 Freemonts in 2012, the first full year of sale for the model in Europe.

To meet the demand, Chrysler has increased production of the model to 4,076 units in June by working overtime.
