Aston Martin today officially confirmed the production of the new V12 Zagato. Only 150 units will be made when production starts in the second half of 2012 with prices starting at a whopping $525,000.
“After winning the award for Design in the Concepts and Prototypes class at the prestigious Villa D’ Este Concours and then going on to prove its durability with the successful completion of the gruelling 39th ADAC Nürburgring 24 Hour race, Aston Martin confirms that there is overwhelmingly encouraging interest from customers to confirm production of the V12 Zagato,” Aston Martin said in a statement.

Each unit of the Aston Martin V12 Zagato will be produced at the company’s headquarters at Gaydon.
“Such style, exclusivity and fastidious craftsmanship ensures it will be one of the most highly coveted models in Aston Martin’s 98-year history,” said Aston’s CEO Ulrich Bez. “A fabulous celebration of the iconic DB4GT Zagato, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, the V12 Zagato is the perfect inspiration for the next 50 years of Aston Martin.”
Refresher: Power for the Aston Martin V12 Zagato comes from a 6.0 liter V12 engine making 510-hp and a maximum torque of 420 lb-ft. The engine is mated to a six-speed automated manual gearbox with auto shift manual/select shift manual. The rear-wheel-drive model features an all round independent double wishbone with fully adjustable Multimatic DSSV dampers. The Aston Martin V12 Zagato will appear in the form of an endurance race car to compete at the Nurburgring 24 hour race.
