The upcoming 2012 Volkswagen Beetle already has a tune in development by Abt Sportsline called the “Speedy Beetle”. The tuner released some teasers for us to check out.

Speed isn’t usually the first association with a Beetle, however, the exterior of this one is, and the make over is oddly pleasing to look at. The kit includes an upgraded front spoiler, side skirts, rear skirt set with muffler and oval exhaust pipes. Also, the graphics kit and front headlight brows on the front and rear have been added. The Volkswagen sits on Abt DR wheels, and the car was dropped all around.

As for engines, all of them are getting an upgrade. The 1.2 TSI gets around 38 additional horsepower, and the 1.4 TSI gets 50 extra horses. Moving on to larger displacement, the 2.0-liter turbo gets bumped up from 197-hp to 236-hp. Diesel engines have not been left out, and starting with the 1.6-liter, it goes from 103-hp to 123-hp. The 2.0 TDI 29 extra horsepower, bringing it up to 167-hp.

Expect to see more details on the Speedy Beetle late 2011.
