Video: 300-hp Audi Q3 RS prototype in action

Audi Q3 RS

A couple of days ago, we told you that Audi is working on a high-performance RS version of the new Audi Q3 (which is not scheduled to come to the United States). If you needed anymore proof that Audi is working on an Audi Q3 RS, then here is a video that just might make you believe it.

The Audi Q3 RS will be powered by a 2.5L 5-cylinder turbo engine from the TT RS. However, instead of 503-hp like the TT RS, it will be detuned to produce 300-hp.

Refresher: The 2012 Audi Q3 will go on sale in Germany later in the year with three different 4-cylinder engines, including one TDI diesel and two TFSI gasoline units. All three engines using direct-injection with turbocharging along with an energy recovery system and a start-stop system. Output for the engines range from 140-hp from the Q3 2.0 TDI to 211-hp for the top-of-the-line Q3 2.0 TFSI. While the diesel will come coupled with a front-wheel-drive system and a 6-speed manual, the two TFSI variants will get quattro all-wheel-drive and a 7-speed S tronic automatic transmission. No plans have been announced to bring the Audi Q3 to the United States.
