Morgan gets 480 orders for its 3 Wheeler, considers expanding

Ever wondered what old school tricycle would be like to own and operate? Neither have I… but about 480 other people have.

Not too long ago, British manufacturer Morgan introduced their Threewheeler, which looks like something that was styled and designed with the World War II era deep in mind. Featuring a V-twin fuel injected engine good for 115hp and mated to a Mazda 5-Speed, the Morgan Threewheeler has already racked up about 480 deposits.

The idea behind the Threewheeler for Morgan was to increase “a greater confidence of products manufactured in the UK,” said Morgan’s boss, Charles Morgan. “Not to mention, we imagine the Threewheeler could remain steady as a popular concept. Cars are too fast for normal use,” he continued. “This is fast but the real joy is in its acceleration – and it still does 50mpg. As a concept this could last 100 years and should be made for many years to come.”

Morgan also said since the company made about 740 cars last year, ideas of expanding are greater than ever.
