Apple likes to keep their cards close when it comes to upgrading any hardware or software in their products. Despite this however, they announced that their latest mobile iOS 5 will add song info to any cars featuring Bluetooth audio streaming, which is currently absent from OEM head units.
With the current versions of Bluetooth audio streaming, you can stream audio up to 128kbps as well as pause, play, and skip tracks during playback but without any track information, which can inhibit the full potential of its functionality. With Apple’s new mobile iOS 5, OEM head units can now display song information, increasing the appeal of the new influx of Bluetooth audio streaming.
What’s not to like when you can rid your car from any messy wires? Let’s just hope Pandora can also follow through with providing the same information when streaming.
