Lincoln promises to match BMW drive, Lexus refinement (w/ poll)

2011 Lincoln MKS

Lincoln is trying to shake their current reputation, in attempts to rid themselves of any ‘glorified Ford’ stigmas. Their approach will be to make completely new and completely updated versions of their vehicles.

Consumers can eventually expect to see seven different models in the next few years, with the first two, the MKS and MKT being redesigned for introduction at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

Ford product chief Derrick Kuzak says about the changes “You think of BMW as engaging to drive; you can think of Lexus as refined. Bring them together and it is a new experience no customer has ever had.” in a Wall Street Journal interview.

Conceptually, Lincoln is looking to keep their redesign understated. I’m hoping for timeless and classic.
