Report: Aston Martin planning to launch ‘two or three’ Lagonda models

Aston Martin Lagonda Concept

Ever since the Aston Martin Lagonda Concept made its debut in 2009, we’ve been hearing about a new range of vehicles for the new brand – well, we may finally see something in action. In an interview with CAR Magazine, Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez confirmed that the automaker is working on launching ‘two or three’ new Lagonda models.

The range will include a new sporty crossover, an allroad-type crossover and a high-end sedan that will compete with the likes of Maybach and Rolls-Royce.

Will the Aston Martin Lagonda Concept enter production? Thankfully not – Aston’s design chief Marek Reichman says that the design team has reworked the concept for production, which will carry 4×4 drive

The Lagonda allroad crossover will compete with the likes of Range Rover.

“Lagonda cannot survive as a one-model brand,” Bez said. “That’s why we are looking at two, maybe three different offerings.”

Aston Martin is still debating on what to do with the sedan. Previously, the model has been rumored to be based on the new Maybach or Mercedes-Benz S-Class platform.
