Top 10 Best-Selling Cars of April 2011: Hyundai, Chevrolet Cruze are a big deal

The shift in gas prices and the results of the massive March 11 Japanese earthquake and tsunami have dramatically shifted the best-selling cars list for the month of April 2011. The highlights for the month of April 2011 including two models by Hyundai and the Chevrolet Cruze compact sedan by GM.
Hyundai grabbed two spots on the top 10 list making it the first time the Korean automaker has managed such a move. The redesigned 2011 Hyundai Sonata, which sold 21,738 units, came in at number 10, while the 2011 Hyundai Elantra, which sold 22,100 units, came in at number 3. The 2011 Hyundai Elantra outsold nameplates like the Ford Focus, Ford Fusion and Nissan Altima, which are usually on the list.
The Chevrolet Cruze joined the top 10 ranks for the first time, selling a whopping 25,160 units – helping it grab the number 6 spot. The Chevrolet Cruze outsold the all of its competitors except the Honda Civic (which sold 26,777 units).
