2013 Chevrolet Malibu production moved up at request of GM CEO
According to General Motors spokesman Dave Darovitz, the company is moving up production of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu by four months ahead of schedule. GM was originally scheduled to start production of the next-generation Malibu in mid-2012 but after CEO Dan Akerson urged those involved with the production, the process has been moved up by about a quarter.
“Mr. Akerson requested we study the program to see if we can move quicker and faster,” Darovitz said.

The 2013 Chevrolet Malibu will be sold in nearly 100 countries on six continents. Rick Scheidt, vice president of Chevrolet, said that the new Malibu was engineered from the ground up to meet needs of customers around the world.
The 2013 Chevrolet Malibu will make its world debut next week at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show and the 2011 New York Auto Show.
