Saab says finances are sufficient after short production stop

Spyker Cars announced today that after a short production stop at Saab Automobile yesterday afternoon, production res-started again this morning.

“Certain suppliers halted supplies to Saab Automobile pending discussions about payments and supply terms,” Spyker Cars said in a statement. “Saab Automobile expects to resolve these issues in the short term, also to prevent any further disruptions in supply.”

Spyker said that Saab has sufficient means to meet its immediate liquidity needs from existing and available sources.

The stoppage created some uncertainty over Saab, whose long-serving CEO Jan Ake Jonsson unexpectedly announced that he will be retiring.
