Mercedes-Benz putting final touches on C63 AMG Black Series

According to latest reports and spy shots, Mercedes-Benz is putting the final touches on a Black Series version of the new 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which goes on sale later this year. The new Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series will be the fourth Black Series model, joining the SLK, CLK and the SL.

While we have no idea on what the specs will be, the C63 AMG Black Series will most likely carry a more powerful 6.3L AMG V8 engine making way more than 520-hp. The engine currently producesĀ 481-hp in the standard Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG with the optional AMG Development Package.

Look out for the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series to debut sometime in September – most likely at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Refresher: TheĀ 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG continues to be powered by a 6.3L V8 engine making 451-hp, which can be increased to 481-hp with the optional AMG Development Package. Mated to a AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission from the SL63 AMG, the 2012 C63 AMG can go from 0-60 mph in just 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph. When mated to the AMG Development Package, the 0-60 mph acceleration time drops to 4.3 seconds and top speed is increased to 174 mph.
