Video: 2012 Nissan GT-R laps Nurburgring in 7:24.22
Don’t even underestimate the power of Godzilla. Nissan engineers recently headed to the Nurburgring to keep their promise of returning a better lap time around the Nordschleife and that’s exactly what they did while filming it all.
An 12 minute video showing the whole event has just been released showing the outstanding lap, which the 2012 Nissan GT-R completed in just 7:24.22. That’s 2.48 seconds quicker than its old time and quite faster than other models including the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Ferrari Enzo, Pagani Zonda F and the Maserati MC12.

Refresher: The 2012 Nissan GT-R is powered by a VR38DETT 3.8L twin turbo V6 that produces 530-hp and 488 lb-ft of torque. Off-the line performance is also improved with an upgraded “R mode” for the transmission and to control tight corner braking. That allows 0-60 mph to come in at 2.9 seconds. Prices for the 2012 Nissan GT-R start at $89,950 for the base model and $95,100 for the Premium and Black Edition.
