The Artega GT is one sports car that has always impressed us. Well, Artega may be going green and at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, the company revealed the Artega SE, an electric-version of what seems to be a direct competitor to the Tesla Roadster.

Our aim is to combine environmental responsibility with the passion for automobiles,” said Artega chief executive Peter Muller.

Power for the Artega SE comes from two electric-motors mounted at the rear-axle with a total output of 380-hp. That allows the Artega SE to go from 0 to 62 mph in 4.3 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph.

While those are some impressive figures, what’s most impressive is that the Artega SE’s lithium-ion polymer battery, rated at 37 kW-hours, can be fully recharged in just 90 minutes. When fully-charged, the Artega SE can comfortably hit a total range of 124 miles ‘under normal driving conditions.’

With 4000 square meters of production space at its plant in Delbruck, Artega plans on producing 500 units of the Artega SE a year. Prices will start at 150,000 euros ($207,007 USD).
