GM is now offering 0% financing on some 2011 models, after an increase in discounts and incentives that lead to top US sales gains last month. Loans for 72 months are available on the Impala, and 60 month loans are available on on the Malibu, HHR, Traverse, Silverado, Colorado, and Avalanche. The Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia, and GMC Sierra are also all eligible for 60 month deals.
GM raised incentives to a staggering $3,732 per vehicle last month; the most of any automaker, and 45% over the average. That figure is expected to come down to earth a bit this month.
“GM’s rhetoric has been saying one thing — discipline, discipline, discipline — and then their actions have been going completely in another direction,” said Jeremy Anwyl, chief executive officer of Santa Monica, Calif.-based Edmunds.com.
