New Look: Saab to show new concept in Geneva that hints at future design

Saab

Alongside the 2012 Saab 9-5 SportWagon and a new facelifted Saab 9-3, the Swedish automaker plans to unveil a new concept vehicle at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show that will show the future styling direction for the brand.

The concept is being created by Saab’s design team, which is now headed by Jason Castriota, a former Bertone and Pininfarina designer. The study will introduce a new styling theme from the automaker’s aircraft heritage and Scandinavian design.

The concept, which we don’t have a name or picture of yet, will also introduce new technologies for future Saab vehicles. Among those will be an electrically powered rear axle and a communications system using Google’s Android operating system.
