Video: BMW ActiveE is for everyday utility
At the 2011 Geneva Motor Show next month, BMW will show the production version of the BMW ActiveE, after which 1,000 units of the electric-car will enter a test fleet in USA, Europe and China. BMW has now released a video showing how the 1-Series based ActiveE can be used for everyday utility. In that sense, the video explains how BMW expects customers to use the upcoming Megacity vehicle, which will enter production in 2013.

Refresher: The BMW ActiveE is powered by an electric synchronous motor that produces 168-hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. That pushes the BMW ActiveE from 0-60 mph in just 9 seconds with a limited (to preserve battery charge) top speed of 90 mph. On a full charge of its lithium-ion battery provided by SB LiMotive, the BMW ActiveE can travel a total of 150 miles before needing to be recharged.
