Alfa Romeo 4C GTA Concept - Teaser

Alfa Romeo has already confirmed that it will debut a concept version of the 4C GTA at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show in March. The Alfa Romeo 4C GTA is expected to be the brand’s new rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive halo coupe and will help attract more customers to the brand.

The Alfa Romeo 4C GTA will use an innovative construction method with the structure provided by Italy’s Dallara Automobili, one of the world’s largest producers of racecars. The structure combines carbon fiber and aluminum, allowing the 4C GTA to have a curb weight of 1,784 lbs.

Power for the Alfa Romeo 4C GTA will come from a 1.8L 4-cylinder direct-injected turbocharged engine making more than 250-hp. That will allow the 4C GTA to have an impressive power-to-weight ratio of below 3.5kg/hp.

Production of the Alfa Romeo 4C GTA is expected to start at the end of 2012 in on of Fiat’s factories in Italy. The company plans on building 20,000 to 25,000 units over five years. Prices will start around 40,000 euros ($55,000 USD). Fiat sources said that the Alfa Romeo 4C GTA could come to the United States, but no decision has been made as of yet.
