Honda CR-V to get full model upgrade in fall 2011

We believe you’ll agree with us when we say that Honda’s current lineup is anything but exciting but Honda believes that demand for light trucks will increase its U.S. sales 10 percent in the fiscal year that kicks off on April 1.

North American sales has been the only bright spot for Honda lately with sales in the region climbing 6 percent to 364,000 units in the first quarter that ended Dec. 31. The increase in North America was the only region in which Honda’s sales increased.

Executive Vice President Koichi Kondo said that the boost in demand for light trucks such as the Odyssey minivan and the CR-V have helped.

“Next fall the CR-V is going to get a full model change, so we have high expectations from that,” Kondo said. “Our mix will be even better next year.”

We’re looking forward to it.
